Cisco-compatible SFP28 25G CWDM transceiver is a transceiver module that allows you to connect a 25GBase-CWDM using a duplex LC/UPC interface within a distance of 20km over single-mode fiber (SMF). The SFP28 25G CWDM transceiver operates between the wavelengths of 1350nm and 1370nm using a CWDM DFB laser as a transmitter and an APD receiver for high-sensitivity links at 25.78125 Gbps.
This SFP28 25G CWDM transceiver operates on a 3.3V power supply with a maximum power consumption of 1.5W. The SFP28 25G CWDM transceiver is designed to be used in a temperature range of 0°C to 70°C. The SFP28 25G CWDM transceiver complies with the SFF-8472 digital diagnostic monitoring (DDM); this DDM standard allows real-time monitoring of temperature, voltage, bias current, and optical power on both TX and RX, with defined accuracy across the operational range.
Key optical parameters include the center wavelength in the 1350nm CWDM band, a typical spectral width of 1nm, an extinction ratio (ER) of not less than 4dB, and a maximum receiver sensitivity of -19dBm over a distance of 20km on SMF. The SFP28 25G CWDM transceiver meets all electrical specifications within SFF-8431 and SFF-8432, having AC-coupled CML data interfaces with a 100-ohm differential impedance and open-collector loss of signal (LOS) and TX_FAULT signals.
The SFP28 25G CWDM transceiver is compatible with 25GBASE Ethernet, CPRI, eCPRI fronthaul, and high-speed data center/storage networks requiring CWDM wavelengths on ITU-T G.652 fiber, as well as standard and industrial storage and transport equipment using SFP28 optical interfaces. The SFP28 25G CWDM transceiver also maintains Class 1 laser safety and is RoHS compliant.
The APD-based receiver and CWDM DFB transmitter of the SFP28 25G CWDM transceiver provide reliable performance and operation within the specified optical return loss and overload limits across long-distance links of up to 20km. Host management is provided by a 2-wire I²C host manager interface, giving access to EEPROM configuration, serial ID, and diagnostics in compliance with SFP28 MSA requirements. The SFP28 25G CWDM transceiver has a metal housing to reduce EMI and uses standard SFP28 cages and connectors.
