Description

Cisco Compatible 10GBASE-BX10-D BiDirectional SFP+ transceiver enables the transmission of the 1330 nm wavelength in one direction and simultaneously receives the 1270 nm wavelength over a single strand of OS2 Singlemode fiber. This transceiver supports links up to 10 km with an LC simplex connector. For bidirectional communication to occur over a single strand of fiber, the compatible 1270/1330 nm wavelength partner is required. This transceiver essentially doubles the capacity of the existing fiber without the expense of adding additional fiber. The SFP+ module supports digital monitoring diagnostics via I2C (SFF-8472). This allows for real-time monitoring of key operational parameters for the transceiver such as temperature, voltage, laser bias, and optical power. The 10GBASE-BX10-D module operates at low power levels while supporting high-speed applications and is designed for use with any Network Interface Card (NIC), enterprise wiring closet, service provider transport application, or Radio & Baseband Units (RU). Each module is tested individually for compatibility with a variety of compatible switches, routers, servers, and Network Interface Cards (NIC).

The 10GBASE-BX10-D module supports 10 km links over OS2 SMF-rated fiber with an LC simplex connector. The module will transmit a 1330 nm wavelength while receiving a 1270 nm wavelength over one strand of fiber, while the partner device will operate in the opposite direction for the wavelengths. Proper use of the complementary wavelengths in each direction of the link will allow full duplex BiDi capability and provide link performance stability in enterprise and service provider networks.
