Cisco CWDM-SFP10G-1610 compatible SFP+ 10G CWDM transceiver supports a maximum transmission distance of up to 80 km (50 miles) on single-mode fiber using an LC duplex connector and can transmit at a data rate of 10 Gb/s. The optical transmitter is of the EML type, and the optical receiver uses an APD. The link budget (total channel loss and margin) of the transceiver across the 8 CWDM wavelengths (1470 nm–1610 nm) is greater than or equal to 24 dB. The transceiver is compliant with the SFF-8431/SFF-8432 Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) and IEEE 802.3ae 10GBASE-ZR/ZW specifications.
Real-time digital diagnostics monitoring (DDM/ddMI), as defined by SFF-8472, enables the monitoring of temperature, laser bias, optical power, and power supply telemetry through a two-wire serial interface. The Cisco CWDM-SFP10G-1610 compatible transceiver requires only a 3.3 V power supply, consumes less than 1.5 W typically (up to 2 W maximum), and does not require a separate metal enclosure to suppress EMI.
These transceivers can support both 10-Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) and 10-Gigabit Fibre Channel equipment operating on single-mode fiber (ITU-T G.652/G.655). The CWDM Mux/Demux devices are used for CWDM wavelength management at all metropolitan, regional, and long-haul distances. They are designed to be used with 10GbE switches, 10GbE routers, NICs/media converters/storage devices, etc. They are fully compatible with over 100 network vendors. This transceiver is RoHS compliant and FDA Class 1 laser safety compliant.
