Cisco CWDM SFP10G-1270-20 compatible products support 10G CWDM at an effective speed of 10.3125 Gb/s over a single fiber using a duplex LC/UPC interface. This device will work with ITU-T specified CWDM wavelengths between 1270 nm and 1610 nm, differentiated by 20nm steps. The maximum length of transmission on a G.652 standard single-mode fiber is 20 km, and the device meets or exceeds IEEE 802.3ae 10GBASE-LR and Fibre Channel (10G) compliance.
The Cisco CWDM10G SFP transceiver contains a CWDM DFB laser diode transmitter, PIN photodiode with a transimpedance amplifier, which provides reliable optical performance. The device is compliant with SFP+ MSA standards SFF-8431, SFF-8432, and SFF-8472. Each transceiver has Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM) capability that allows the user to monitor device temperature, laser bias current, received/transmitted optical power, and supply voltage via a 2-wire serial interface.
The Cisco CWDM-SFP10G-1270-20 uses a single 3.3V power supply, and the power consumption is less than 1.5 watts. Housed in a metal enclosure, this product’s design minimizes EMI interference when installed. The device is hot-pluggable (hot-swap) via a 20-pin connector supporting low-voltage differential signaling at 100-ohm differential impedances. The product is RoHS-compliant and classified as a Class 1 FDA laser safety certified product.
