SC, LC, and FC fiber optic adapters connect fibers efficiently for use in telecom rooms, optical distribution frames (ODFs), cable television systems, local area networks (LANs), and the physical wiring of fiber optic cables. The outside housings are made from either engineered plastics or zinc alloys. To ensure reliability of the adapter in single-mode and multi-mode applications, both adapters contain precision ceramic sleeves that keep the connectors aligned during mechanical or physical installation.
SC simplex (single) adapters have flanges with dust caps (23 mm, 30 mm, and 14 mm). LC high-low flange (staggered height) designs allow vertical stacking in dense panels. Flip covers on the SC adapters protect the ceramic sleeve during handling. Water-blue LC high-low adapters are specifically designed for use with OM3 multi-mode fibers.
A single product series can be applied across multiple projects, simplifying inventory management. SC simplex adapters support various connection types, while LC quad adapters keep multiple lines organized and compact. Metal SC/UPC duplex adapters are suitable for rack-mounted setups, tolerating vibration while maintaining high-performance loss specifications.

Model Configurations
SC Series Models
Flanged SC-SC simplex adapters with dust caps; metal models provide both SC/UPC and SC/APC in simplex and duplex configurations. Multi-mode models include SC-OM3 and SC-OM4 simplex and duplex adapters. Special designs include flip cover simplex, side flip cover simplex, and flip cover duplex adapters.
LC Series Model
LC-LC simplex and duplex adapters are designed for core connectivity. Hybrid LC-FC and LC-SC adapters allow interfacing between different connector types. High-low flange adapters come as single-mode (blue body), OM3 (water-blue), and OM4 variations. Metal simplex, duplex, and quad adapters provide additional strength; quad adapters include multi-mode, OM3, OM4, single-core quad, and metal quad varieties.
FC Series Model
FC-FC square flange adapters are ideal for mounting into panels. They are paired with SC/LC hybrid adapters.
Applications
Telecommunication carriers use these to support their network infrastructure. These rooms connect modules to ODF frames, while cable television companies ensure stable video transmission. Local Area Networks connect their switches using LAN protocols. Fibre to the Home terminations run cleanly to the inside of the house via a panel.
The LC quad adapter allows for optimal use of rack space, while the SC flip cover provides a secure connection when technicians maintain network equipment. Metal casings can withstand repeated handling and extreme temperatures in both indoor cabinets and outdoor enclosures.
Mixed single-mode and multi-mode fiber panels can be managed within the same enclosure, as these adapters provide the necessary physical connection for various fiber types.
Technicians working on cable television networks can use the appropriate transceivers with corresponding adapters to create a reliable hybrid fiber-coaxial connection. Cabling technicians in data centers can efficiently stack high and low LC fiber adapters into rows.
Installation Notes
Before making any connections, ensure that each fiber end is properly cleaned. Remove dust caps from all flanges, align the adapters properly (the metal mounting clips ensure a secure fit), and lift flip covers for easy access. High and low LC flanges can be securely locked into dense panels.
Each quad LC adapter can hold four separate connections in one port; therefore, apply only minimal pressure toward the metal housing. When not in use, always place dust caps on unused ports.
The fiber adapters are shipped in protective bags. Insertion loss testing is performed on each unit before shipment. To maintain the sleeve, store the adapters in a dry environment.
Series Advantages
Consistency is standard across the series. Every model utilizes the same high-precision ceramic sleeve design for uniform alignment. SC simplex is the most straightforward solution for reliable performance. LC-OM4 quad adapters handle the highest density of fiber connections, all maintaining ≤0.3 dB loss.
Hybrid LC-FC and LC-SC adapter styles enable legacy telecom systems to interface with modern fiber panels. OM3 and OM4 adapters support 10G+ multi-mode fiber runs. Metal housings provide vibration resistance, while engineering plastic housings help reduce overall weight.
Technicians will find no learning curve since all models feature consistent spring-action mechanisms. The defined loss specifications ensure predictable network performance in both crowded telecom rooms and remote field cabinets.
