Cisco SFP-10G AOC1M Compatible 10G SFP+ Active Optical Cable (1 m, SFP+ to SFP+) from BYXGD is constructed with OM3 multimode fiber with SFP+ optics integrated within. Each end of the cable has an SFP+ connector, making this a full-duplex link for communications between devices up to 1 m. The operating wavelength is 850 nm, using VCSEL for transmitting and PIN for receiving optical signals. The cable supports 10GbE, Fibre Channel 4x/8x, InfiniBand SDR/DDR/QDR, and complies with SFF-8431 electrical specifications and SFF-8432 mechanical specifications. The 1 m assembly is designed for short-distance connections between racks. The use of a single assembly eliminates the need for separate SR optics and patch cords, enabling connectivity to multiple types of networks (e.g., Ethernet, Fibre Channel, InfiniBand) to be shared by storage, compute, and GPU nodes. The sealed optical path of this cable is achieved without the use of LC connectors, which minimizes contamination and wear to the connectors, resulting in reduced insertion loss over the length of the cable.
