Cisco Linksys MGBBX1 Compatible BYXGD 1000BASE-BX-U SFP transmits at 1.25 Gbps across single-mode fiber with a maximum distance of 20 km using 1310 nm TX/1490 nm RX through a simplex LC/UPC connector. The module supports DOM/DDM, allowing you to read temperature, voltage, laser bias, and TX/RX optical power. The module operates in the commercial temperature range of 0–70°C, requires <1 W power, and complies with SFF-8472 diagnostics and SFP MSA electrical specifications using 100 Ω differential signaling.
The optical design is a bidirectional (BiDi) configuration with a built-in wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) portion; the far end will require a complementary BX-D. The typical launch power is −9 to −3 dBm with receiver sensitivity of −20/−22 dBm depending on the platform. 20 km link lengths use G.652 SMF. The design is Class 1 laser safe, and the materials comply with RoHS standards.
