Cisco QSFP-40GE-LR4 Compatible 40GBASE-LR4 QSFP+ 1310nm 10km Duplex LC/UPC SMF Optical Transceiver Module is capable of establishing a 40-Gbps link over OS2 single-mode fiber for distances up to 10 km. The transceiver uses a total of four CWDM lanes operating at 1271/1291/1311/1331 nm, and supports live monitoring via DOM/DDM which displays temperature, voltage, TX/RX power, and bias via I2C, providing a convenient means of adjusting the link without having to remove the transceiver module. The transceiver has a duplex LC/UPC interface for simplified patching, and a QSFP+ edge connector and hot-swap capability that provides speedy performance with little to no disruption in the field.
The transceiver is designed to be compliant with the IEEE 802.3ba 40GBASE-LR4 and QSFP+ MSA with SFF-8436/8636 management standards, and can readily fit into standard 40GbE architectural deployments. The optical system is an integrated mux/demux design which aggregates four 10G lanes ensuring latency performance is predictable and low. It will support 40GbE uplink applications into existing data center spine/leaf architectures, long-distance enterprise core architectures, and campus backbones that require long-distance solutions without the use of parallel fiber. Compatible with Cisco devices including Catalyst 3560X/3650/4500/6000/9300/9300L/9400/9500/9600/9800 and Nexus 2000/5000/6000/7000/7700/8500/9200/9300/9300X/9400X/9500/9600/9800.
