Cisco QSFP-8LC-AOC5M 5m (16ft) Compatible 40G QSFP+ to 4 Duplex LC Active Optical Breakout Cable (BYXGD) is compliant with the IEEE 802.3ba 40GBase-SR4 standard and is designed for quad breakout applications from 40G to 4 x 10G using OM3 multimode fiber over distances of up to 100 meters.
The Cisco QSFP-8LC-AOC5M cable utilizes a full-duplex four-channel optical engine with each channel operating at 10Gb/s and powered via a single 3.3 V supply that consumes less than or equal to 0.7W of power. It can be added or removed while the system remains operational (i.e., hot-pluggable). The cable is also RoHS compliant and designed to operate in a commercial temperature range between 0°C and 70°C. The lightweight construction of this cable allows it to be used in high-density racks and helps facilitate easier overall management and reduced bulk associated with cabling. The Cisco QSFP-8LC-AOC5M provides a functional equivalent of, and is compatible with, Cisco’s 40G QSFP+ switches, routers, and adapter products compliant with the 40GBase-SR4 QSFP+ ports and the 10GBase-SR/LR LC Interface specifications.
