Cisco QSFP-40/100-SRBD Compatible 40/100GBASE-SM4 SWDM4 QSFP28 is a dual-rate transceiver that delivers 40G and 100G Ethernet applications through a bidirectional optical interface. It operates over OM5 multimode fibers utilizing four wavelengths, including 850nm, 880nm, 910nm, and 940nm, and reaches up to 150m with a standard duplex LC connector. This module uses four electrical lanes of 25G data into two channels of optics, which equals an aggregate data rate of 103.1Gb/s and uses just under 3.5W of power.
This transceiver is compliant with the QSFP28 MSA and IEEE 802.3bm CAUI-4 standards to ensure interoperability and signal integrity. Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM) functionality is built into the transceiver and accessed through I2C. The transceiver also uses BOX packaging to provide improved structural reliability, thermal stability, and protection from humidity and dust. This module allows the user to leverage duplex multimode infrastructure to migrate from 10G to 40G or 100G in order to minimize cabling complexity and upgrade costs.
