2.5GBASE-SX SFP Transceiver Module (MMF, 850nm, 300m, LC/UPC, DOM) is capable of providing data rates of up to 2.5 Gbps over 50/125 µm multimode fiber (MMF). The transceiver consists of an 850nm VCSEL laser transmitter working with a PIN photodiode and trans-impedance amplifier (TIA) that provide efficient optical transmission over short distances using duplex LC/UPC connectors.
This SFP transceiver complies with SFP MSA (INF-8074i), SFF-8472 v9.5, GR-253-CORE, ITU-T G.957, and FC-PI v2.0. Therefore, it can be utilized in environments containing equipment from multiple different vendors, as it ensures interoperability with multimode applications over optical networking and communication systems. The transceiver also features Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM), which provides easy access to real-time diagnostic information about temperature, voltage, bias current, and optical power in order to improve reliability and manageability in high-density environments.
With a lower power consumption of less than 1W and an operational temperature range of -5 degrees Celsius to 70 degrees Celsius, the transceiver is also designed with low power consumption in consideration while supporting a wide range of operating environments. The transceiver is also compatible with the following vendors, including Cisco, Juniper, Dell, Brocade, and HP. The transceiver is designed to support 2x Fibre Channel, SONET/SDH STM-16, and short-range Gigabit Ethernet applications.
