Cisco SFP-10G-ER Compatible 10GBASE-ER SFP+ transceiver can achieve data rates of 10.31 Gbps (10GBASE-ER) and 9.95 Gbps (10GBASE-EW) over single-mode fiber up to a distance of 40 km. Using a 1550 nm wavelength, it has a simplex LC/UPC connector and is fully interoperable with, and compliant with, the SFP+ MSA, SFF-8431, SFF-8432, and IEEE 802.3ae standards.
Incorporating Digital Diagnostics Monitoring (DDM) through a 2-wire serial interface (SFF-8472), this module can accurately monitor optical power, temperature, and voltage levels in real time. It also typically consumes less than 1.5 W of power, making it energy-efficient for long-reach connections in high-density networking environments (data centers, metro, telecom backbone networks) and operations. The module is coded and tested for plug-and-play use in network switches, routers, servers, and network interface cards (NICs) to ensure high integrity and compatibility.
