Cisco SFP-10G-BX40-D Compatible 10GBASE-BX40-D SFP+ is a cutting-edge 10G BiDi optic transceiver with a distance range of up to 40 km via OS2 SMF fiber. It uses an LC simplex connector for single-fiber transmission, transmits a 1330 nm signal, and receives on the opposite side at 1270 nm. The opposing BiDi optic transmits at 1270 nm and receives at 1330 nm, ensuring the overall operation is truly BiDi.
Digital diagnostics can be accessed via the I2C interface defined by SFF-8472, allowing for real-time reading of operating parameters such as optical power, temperature, and device health. Testing has been conducted on each device to confirm that an extensive compatibility of products, including switches, routers, servers, and NICs, will work with the module. This ultimately mitigates the risk of integration when using disparate vendors.
This module is for enterprise wiring closets, service provider transport applications, and Radio & Baseband Units where fiber economy, copper, and space are a priority. The module has low power consumption with stable, high-speed (10 Gbps) throughput designed for data centers, campus or edge networks requiring reliable BiDi operation while utilizing single-fiber links.
