Cisco SFP-10G-BX100D Compatible 10GBASE-BX100-D SFP+ BiDi module provides the ability to transmit 10 Gbps over a single strand of fiber, which can be either single-mode fiber (SMF) or multimode fiber (MMF). This particular model utilizes a single-mode fiber (SMF) strand and Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) technology, with a transmission wavelength of 1550 nm and a receiving wavelength of 1490 nm, with maximum distances of 100 km. The SFP module employs a simplex LC/UPC connector, features a cooled EML transmitter and APD receiver, and, in order to transmit and receive data utilizing a single strand of fiber, must be paired with a complementary wavelength on the far side of the link to operate multidirectionally.
