Cisco XFP-10G-BX60U-I Compatible BiDi XFP 10GBASE-BX Transceiver is specifically designed for applications over single-fiber long-reach networks requiring high optical sensitivity. It provides deployment flexibility in 10GBASE-ER/EW Ethernet and 10G Fibre Channel applications across transport, backbone, and carrier-grade access networks.
The module is equipped with a DFB transmitter and APD receiver that will maintain an acceptable signal at the other end of 60km links in conditions where the power budgets are tight, as commonly seen in other transceivers. The architecture does not require an external reference clock and hence permits a simplified system design without external timing stability, which is known to be a challenge with multi-vendor applications.
The transceiver is built with a metal-shielded housing to prevent EMI and ensure durability. It is RoHS compliant and provides IEC-60825 Class 1 laser safety to ensure safe deployment in a high-density optical system, and all optical and functional characteristics are tested on each unit to ensure link performance stability, data integrity, and interoperability with equipment such as Cisco XFP-10G-BX60U-I, Juniper EX-XFP-10GE-BX23-60, Dell GP-XFP-10GBX-U-60, and Brocade 10G-XFP-BXU-60K.
