Cisco Compatible BYXGD 1000BASE-SX SFP module operates at a wavelength of 1310 nm with a nominal line rate of 1.25 Gbps, capable of transmitting signals over distances of up to 2 km over single-mode fiber (SMF) or multimode fiber (MMF) through duplex LC/UPC. The SFP module uses a Fabry-Perot (FP) laser and a PIN photodetector, is powered by a +3.3 V supply, and maintains a power consumption below 1 W. The transceiver is rated for commercial or industrial temperature operation (0–70°C), low electromagnetic interference (EMI) characteristics, and ESD immunity.
Digital diagnostics (Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM) and Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM)) capabilities are available, incorporating temperature, supply voltage, laser bias, TX optical power, and RX optical power readings via a 2‑wire (I²C) interface. The transceiver fits within the hot-pluggable SFP MSA footprint, is IEEE 802.3z compliant for Gigabit Ethernet, and provides flexibility for rapid maintenance and dependable 1G links up to 2 km on compatible optical fiber.
