1000BASE-BX-D SFP transceiver (SMF, 1490 nm-TX/1310 nm-RX, 40 km, Simplex LC, DOM) is a Cisco GLC-BX40-DA compatible transceiver that transmits and receives data over a single strand of single-mode fiber at distances of up to 40 km at a rate of 1.25 Gbps. Effective 40 km long-range transmission is achieved through the passing of light at a wavelength of 1490 nm for transmission and 1310 nm for receiving, while keeping power consumption low at less than 1 W.
This module is fully compliant with IEEE 802.3ah and SFP MSA specifications and is hot-swappable to allow for flexibility in deployment. This device comes with a DFB (distributed feedback) laser transmitter, a PIN photodiode receiver, and DOM (digital diagnostic monitoring), which allows users to monitor the physical connection in real time. This unit’s operational temperature range is from 0°C to 70°C with a supply voltage of 3.3 V.
